You get to be involved in running your club. My hours have including meetings to ensure the future of the club is in the direction we want, rucruiting new members, working with individuals to give them a better idea of what the club is, carrying out administrative tasks and meetings with coaches to improve the club internally.

Getting involved in the committee side of the sport you play at university is definitely worth doing. You get to have an insight of how the uni run the sport programmes and take on more responsibility whilst making a difference. The opinions and views you have on what could be improved within your team can be discussed at committee meetings and with northumbria sport. The ability to really shape the sport into what you would like it it be has been the highlight of this volunteering role for me.
